News Flash! Foreign Journalist Caught Doing His Job.

geoffff

gabrielebarbati
A Marked Man?

This Italian journalist has said in a line what you need to know about the dead and butchered kids in Gaza. The bonus is an insight into how little the West really cares about them once it is too generally known that their deaths and  injuries were from Hamas rocket strikes and mortars, and therefore cannot be blamed with full impact on the Jews.

Nothing kills a Gaza story stone dead quicker than the news that not only did the Jews not do it, not necessarily news to Middle East correspondents anyway who after all are there, but that there is proof out there that they did not. And if they did not, who did? The UN?

Where "out there", they do not care. There is never any curiosity at all about that because there is no story to be found out there.

The best a journalist can do in this situation without outright lying is a "both sides are blaming each other ... " type of story that turns entirely on the pathos of the scenes, often depicted in an obscene detail that the Western media self censors anywhere else but Gaza.

Nine more kids murdered by Hamas and a lot more badly bashed about, among probably hundreds, and the best our layabout media can manage are "both sides are blaming each other ..." stories. Bludgers. Cowards.

Remember the UNWRA school massacre story?

Surely. It was just days ago and it kicked off the most vicious attacks on Israel and, in the case of Mike Carlton, Israel, the Jews, the "Jewish race", the Australian "Jewish Lobby" and whatever other lip sneering euphemism is de jour in those circles.

Turns out the Israelis didn't kill the kids in that school after all.

Hamas did it.

Just that everybody decided it was best to blame the Jews for all the dead kids anyway even though this is a battle and it is in the nature of battles that loose ordinance flies about sometimes killing civilians and very frequently soldiers on your own side. It is in the nature of battles that there is a fog.

Hamas ordinance is the loosest ordinance of all. And they are masters of the world when it comes to fog.

If you relied on the Australian media you would not know that Hamas, or one of its rivals, killed those kids in that incident that was so carefully and painfully recorded that you could not have missed it at the time.

Now that it is known it was not the IDFand could only have been Hamas firing missiles from across the street, the story is dead. Old news. No reports at all that it was not the IDF, after all. This is not news in Australia

Flash. Arab kids not killed by Israelis.

You know it will never get a run on the ABC.

Remember the Mohammed Al Durah story and the Netzarim Junction blood libel? Probably not. That's the way the Western media wants it or prefers it  or perhaps just as things are once it becomes known that the Jews had nothing to do with it,and worse, there is detailed forensic evidence of that"out there" for all to see if they are interested.

No story. Retrospectively there is no story.

It only got worse when it became known the whole thing was a stitched up media fraud from the start of the day to the end of the day by when young Mohammed would have been somewhere safe watching himself on CNN and eating KFC.

And so the story headed for the nearest wormhole in the direction of the next parallel universe. Barely a word survives. Google the subject and the most current gasp is Ed O'Loughlan making a goose of himself back in 2007.

Once the story  was huge in  the Western and Australian media in what passes for Middle East reporting. Up until about ten years ago the image of that poor kid trying to shelter behind his desperate dad hung over every report out of the region from our fearless, straight calling  Middle East correspondents where like John Lyons filing out of Jerusalem, they are safer than if they were in Canberra on a bad winter night.

Much safer come to think of it.

Note to John Lyons.

This is what a real journalist looks like.

Barbati is not a "brave" journalist, or even an especially "honest" one, you might have hoped, for just reporting what he and his witnesses saw, once he was out of harm's way. Just doing his job is all.

It really is a terrible thing there are so few of them. It must take a type of courage we are not familiar with. No point asking John Lyons about that.

New Matilda Broadside On Israel and the Jews --- (Part 4)

geoffff

There was this communal effort at NM a few days ago.

But first a word from our sponsor.

Two Jews and two Palestinians walk into a bar. Under the Jews table there is a large dog.

Hey Jews, demand the Palestinians, does your dog bite? No way, never, say the Jews, so the Palestinians test this by prodding the dog with a foot. The dog jumps up and leaps on the Palestinians and tears bloody lumps out of them.

Hey Jews, I thought you said your dog doesn't bite? says a bleeding and wounded Palestinian. That's not our dog, say the Jews.

Oops. Sorry. This is supposed to be serious with these guys. War on Gaza and all that as seen from where stands the NM class.

Two Jews, Two Palestinians: An Open Letter On The Simple Truth

By Michael Brull, Samah Sabawi, Peter Slezak and Randa Abdel-Fattah

The Al Aqsa hospital in Gaza was shelled by the Israeli Defence Force yesterday.
The Al Aqsa hospital in Gaza was shelled by the Israeli Defence Force yesterday.
Keywords:
The enduring international silence around Israel's assault on Gaza has prompted a passionate plea from four prominent human rights activists.
We are writing this letter, Jews and Palestinians together, in the hope of making a simple point: the fighting between Israel and Gaza right now is not an even-handed clash.
Both sides are not equally to blame.
The Israeli army is committing mass murder against an overwhelmingly innocent and mostly defenseless population in Gaza.

There are 1.8 million people in Gaza. Most of them are children, and two-thirds of them are refugees.
They have lived under Israeli occupation since 1967, and a brutal siege since 2006 which limited the amount of food, medicine and other supplies entering the city.
This siege is a form of criminal collective punishment directed at the entire population and described as the ‘civilian levers’ by the Israeli security cabinet.
Ariel Sharon’s chief advisor, Dov Weisglass described the siege as ‘an appointment with a dietician. The Palestinians will get a lot thinner, but won’t die’.
This official Israeli policy, has resulted in the devastation of Gaza.
According to Oxfam, over 40 per cent of Gazans are unemployed. According to UNRWA, 80 per cent of the population is dependent on international aid.
The siege on Gaza has ‘decimated lives and livelihoods, resulting in the impoverishment and de-development of a highly skilled and well-educated society’.
According to UNRWA over 90 per cent of water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption. The former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, observed of the siege: “Their whole civilization has been destroyed. I’m not exaggerating…. It’s almost unbelievable that the world doesn’t care while this is happening.”

and on and on it goes.
A few comments in response.

There is no conspiracy of silence. There is no silence at all really.  Just noise and in Gaza it is Hamas that is the source of  the noise; including a fair share of the explosions.
Hamas started this terror war. Hamas ignores Egyptian and Arab League truce deals. Hamas wages this terror war as much against the people of Gaza as against the people of Israel. We have no idea what is going on in Gaza because this is the middle of a battle Hamas controls the information and does not have much of an idea itself.
So it just makes stuff up.
But one thing we can say. Every single civilian casualty in Gaza and especially every kid has been killed or badly bashed around by Hamas. No one else is responsible.
But this is seriously amusing if that is possible.
Another ten year hudna?
Like the one in November 2012.?
Or does this team dare speak of  the great  once only ever  Hamas Ten Year Hudna Offer of 2009?

I have to agree with the writers. The start of this current round of conflict was the murder of 3 Israelis.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm on a parallel planet and something in the basic fabric has just changed retrospectively.
This was just a few weeks ago. The murder of the three kids was just the declaration of war. Then came the rocket barrage. You know? The missiles that Hamas is throwing at civilians across Israel everyday?
And the tunnel attacks and desperate attempts to kill or kidnap civilians.
Surely you must have heard of this?

This odd and sinister allegation by outspoken Marxist blogger, former life long Trotskyite and retired Canberra based senior ATO official,  John Passant in the course of a piece defending the rights of an Australian based hate preaching racist cleric recently deported from the Philippines  .

The One-Sided War on Free Speech

By John Passant

Free speech is important in Australia, but apparently only when you express conservative ideologies, writes John Passant.
Earlier this week the Philippines sent Australian citizen Robert 'Musa' Cerantonio back to Australia.
He was expelled for having invalid travel documents. Cerantonio’s ‘real crime', however, was to be a self-proclaimed Islamic preacher who runs a blog supportive, among other things, of the ISIS caliphate in Syria and Iraq.
He proclaimed on Twitter recently that he would soon go there to visit.
The International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence has described him as “one of the three most influential preachers online”, with a strong following among foreign fighters in the Middle East.
When Cerantonio arrived back in Melbourne, the Australian Federal Police interviewed him for two and a half hours, together, no doubt, with ASIO.
An AFP statement read in part:
Mr Cerantonio’s known social media postings are considered offensive and disturbing, however, have been assessed as not breaching Australian law to this point. The AFP will continue to monitor and assess this material for any breaches of Australian law into the future.
I didn't know the AFP was the arbiter of what is considered offensive and disturbing. One might suggest the AFP taking on this role is itself 'offensive and disturbing' to democracy and free speech.
Then this old colleague of Che Gorilla from years ago gets to the Jew bit. [geoffff]
Does the AFP consider the support the Australian government gives to the genocide which Israel is committing right now in Gaza - almost certainly being carried out by, among others, Australian citizens or residents fighting in the Israeli Defence Forces - offensive and disturbing?

Will those Australian citizens carrying out this genocide be subject to AFP and ASIO interrogation and ongoing investigation for possible breaches of Australian law?
Will the AFP investigate Tony Abbott and Julie Bishop for their offensive and disturbing support for these war crimes and crimes against humanity?
...
[end]
It goes on here but that's pretty much the main point of the man whose colleagues came to call Pissant John. The Australian authorities should treat Australian and Israeli Jews who may be in the IDF as if they are dangerous and active propagandists for the most vile, violent, hateful and vicious ideology to emerge out of extremist Islamism so far.
Good one, John.
Comments today from geoffff and Iain Hall who has a valuable link about some horrible truths about this conflict.

You haven't got any better have you John, since you parted company with the Trotskyites.  Did they toss you out or was it vice versa? No matter.

Once you're thick with the Trots you have revealed a political development that never matured past adolescence.

In 1949 the population of Gaza was 400 000. Now it is 1.8 million. When it comes to comitting "genocide"  the Israelis have to be the most incompetent in history.
